Course Description

By completing this course you will gain a greater understanding of persistent pain, its self-management and increased confidence and awareness in persistent pain management.

The Pathways through pain course has been created to provide practitioners with information on how to support people with pain to self-manage. It aims to help practitioners understand the key steps in the Chronic Persistent Pain Pathway and ways to use them.

It has been developed in conjunction with the experts from the PainSense Team at ADI Health.

By completing this course you will gain a greater understanding of persistent pain, its self-management and increased confidence and awareness in persistent pain management.

Using patient self-assessment information to aid joint management planning
Guiding patients into the use of self-management resources
Understanding and linking patients to supportive local resources to self- manage in key areas
This course is relevant to anybody involved in pain management.

When you’ve completed this online training you will sit an online test and, once successful, you can download your certificate.

  • Introducing the Leeds Map of Medicine Pathway for Chronic Pain
  • Assessing the severity of impact of pain
  • Using four assessment tools
  • More on managing pain

Accreditation
The content of this course has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines.

Duration
Approximately 1 – 2 hours. The length of time taken depends entirely on how quickly you can study and absorb the material. The course is self-paced with interactive screens, links to extensive additional resources and multiple components. Your progress will be recorded throughout.
