Package description
A basic understanding of proper food hygiene and safety is essential for any kitchen environment and any workplace where food is handled, be that a restaurant, cafe, canteen or otherwise.
You can also benefit from peripheral courses which bolster skills in areas such as first aid and fire safety to educate staff on the proper fire emergency procedures.
Knowing how to clean and disinfect equipment, safely store and prepare food to avoid cross-contamination, and control common pests will allow you to handle food safely to minimise risk to customers and staff alike.
Level 1 Food Hygiene and Fire Safety will teach learners to be able to understand how to keep clean and hygienic in the kitchen and what to do in the event of a fire in the workplace.
The first aid course teaches learners to follow the Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines for basic to advanced life support training. Learners will know what to do if they are first on the scene of an incident, how to assess the situation as a potential danger zone and understand the importance of the recovery position and how they may apply it.
Employers are legally required by Fire Safety Regulations (The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005) to provide information, instruction and training to employees about fire precautions in the workplace. This online fire safety course helps you to fulfil this obligation by providing your staff with the knowledge and understanding required to act safely in the event of a fire in the workplace. This course will help learners understand the legal requirements for fire safety, gain knowledge of fire prevention and understand warning systems and what to do.
The material is provided in an interactive format that is designed to be engaging and accessible. A basic knowledge of food hygiene will mean learners progress quickly, but the course is designed for anyone working in the service or hospitality sectors and should be suitable for any staff member to give them the knowledge needed to work effectively and safely.
